Don’t really know what to write about today. It feels like I’m in about day 500 of damp, gloomy, rainy weather. It actually hasn’t been that long, but this time of year, the days are short enough as it is without the clouds blocking sunlight as well. The weatherman has said that we may get out of this gloomy pattern by the end of the weekend. I’m holding him to it.
Seriously, there was a time when I thought that seasonal affective disorder was the silliest thing I’d ever heard of. That was before I spent four years in Washington State where it’s overcast and gloomy all winter as well as the days being shorter because it is farther north. Apparently, the lack of sunlight can trigger to body to slow down and that slowdown makes you feel depressed.
I get it now. And I now I live in “sunny” Alabama.
The good news is that according to the weather section of the newspaper, the sun will stay up past 5 pm by the end of the week.
Meanwhile, I’m getting back to working on the latest book which is going slower than I’d like.
