A bit of a Tricky Issue

I’ve got a little bit of a tricky issue to talk about. Because my recent books contain very little sex and most of that is closed door, they are rated as sweet. I can assure you that the topics, I cover in my books, are anything but sweet. So, if you like reading explicit sex, my books are not for you. But I have written about teenage pregnancy, abortion, veterans, wounded veterans, PTSD, and crime. You name it, I may have covered it. So, please don’t pass my books by because you see them rated sweet.

They are not.

BTW, Happy Fall from me.

Fall in The Air

One down and one to go. Had my first cataract surgery last Wednesday and everything has turned out fine. However, I must say I was daunted by the number and different types of eye drops I’ve had to use. (I finally had to make a chart to keep them straight. I guess I’ll need two charts after the other eye, since the eye drops will continue in both eyes till around the middle of next month.) It may be a pain, but it beats the alternative of not being able to see clearly.

I have managed to get back to the WIP this week, but mostly I’m just going back and polishing the chapters that I’d already written. I figure I won’t really be able to get back into my regular writing schedule and I can get back to the business of adding pages and developing the story until the middle of next week.

I’ve been looking out my windows and watching the leaves start to turn. Fingers crossed that we’ll actually have a pretty fall this year. Fall is my favorite season, not because things are dying, but because I love the glorious colors and the chill in the air.

One Week Away!

One more week till The Redemption of Remy Lambert goes live (on September 15).

Remy Lambert was secondary character in Out of Control which was released last March. So, it you want to see what led up to what happens in The Redemption of Remy Lambert, it’s still available on Amazon.

If you want to preorder Remy, here is the link. Feel free to share it with your friends.https://www.amazon.com/s…

The Redemption of Remy Lambert Release Date

Just to show just how crazy some writers can be and how real their characters are to them, this is what happened last week. As I was watching the coverage of Hurricane Laura as it barrelled toward Louisiana, I realized that it was aiming straight for Lake Charles which is not far from where part of The Redemption of Remy Lambert takes place. I briefly found myself feeling concerned about Marge and her gentleman friend Otis. Then I realized that they were not real people, and I could stop worrying.

That’s how it is in a writer’s life.

The e-book of The Redemption of Remy Lambert will be available on September 15 at Amazon.com

September Release

I’m making progress. I’ve completed the first steps in uploading and getting Remy ready as an ebook. However, it will be a while before he is ready to go. I have set a tentative release date of September 15, and once the book is approved, it will be available for pre-order. I will let you know.

In the meantime, I need your help. Sales have not been good in this time of pandemic, and you can help. Once the book is available for preorder, if you would share the information with your friends by hitting share after you’ve read the post, it would help a lot.

Thanks.

In the meantime, I’m working on an idea for the book to follow. I’ll let you know.

Proofreader & PepĂ© Le Pew

Still waiting for my manuscript to come back from the proofreader, so I’ve been spending a lot of time twiddling my thumbs.

My biggest excitement recently is that I have discovered that there is a skunk in my neighborhood. Fortunately, I have only had visual sightings and not the kinds of encounters that require tomato juice. I have tried to take a photo of it because it’s a pretty skunk, mostly white with two thin auburn stripes down its back. And, yes, I looked it up, and skunks can be light colored, but they’re like natural blondes, not that many around.

So, in the meantime, I’m twiddling my thumbs some more, reading a lot, and finding that I’ve mostly exhausted the interesting programming on Netflix and other screening platforms.

I’m still hoping that I can announce that Remy has gone to the formatter by next time I post.

Catching Errors

Sigh. I received the proof copy of The Redemption of Remy Lambert yesterday so I could catch any errors I missed during multiple rounds of proofreading. I had hoped not to find very many errors. Silly me. Found three in the first 50 pages. Whine. I don’t know why I tend to catch errors when I read it on paper, but not online.

Remy is available for pre-order now, but won’t be released until September 15, by which time I will have finished all the revisions. Again.

Why should you bother to pre-order? If you read on a device, it will be there waiting for you on September 15. Don’t really know if you will get the paper version that quickly. However, ipre-orders have a benefit for me. All of them will show up as sales on the release date which will help with my sales.
