Busy, Busy

Oops! I almost forgot.

I had to get going early to vote and then I had to go to the bank and Costco and other kinds of errand type things, so I’m just sitting down to make my Tuesday post.

We had a wonderful time at the Decatur Public Library last week meeting readers and autographing their copies of WHAT A DAY! In fact, we had so much fun that we agreed to help with a workshop at the library on June 11. Several of our HODFW group with be presenting programs and others of us will be available for questions and autographing. As a matter of fact, I will be there with copies of HANNAH”S HERO which will be released a week from today.

I hope to see you at the library!

Save the Date

This coming Thursday, May 19th, most of the authors included in WHAT A DAY! will be participating in a joint book signing at the Decatur Public Library at 6pm. It has been a very long time since I have had an opportunity to do a signing and I’m really looking forward to meeting readers.

HANNAH’S HERO will be officially released in two weeks, May 31. Available for pre-order now.

In the meantime, I’m mentally brainstorming my next book while I’m busily planting flowers in my pollinator garden and waiting for my veggies to grow in the vegetable garden.

Hannah’s Hero Coming Soon

Now I’m in waiting mode for Hannah’s Hero to be released. It’s all uploaded and waiting. Release date it May 31. Ready for pre-orders.

In the meantime, I’m still enjoying the hoopla associated with the short story book. I had fun writing my story in it because my characters were in my age group. It’s been a long time since I’ve been able to do that.

Patiently Waiting

I’m waiting for the postman to bring the print proofs of Hannah’s Hero. Again, it’s like waiting to deliver a baby. I’m ready, but things are moving much slower than I’d prefer.

Once I read and approve the book and hopefully not catch any mistakes, I can be done with it and just wait until the release date of May 31. Just in time for some light summer reading.

Try, Try Again

Apparently, the internet ate my post from yesterday. I thought I had told you about Hannah’s Hero being up for pre-order and had added a copy of the cover. As those of you who know me well know, I cannot be trusted with technology. Apparently, I pressed a wrong button and instead of adding the cover art and posting, everything must have gone away. So, here it is again. (I hope.)

Always Something

Seems like the calendar switched over to Spring about a month ago, yet it was 37 degrees in my little part of the world this morning. Sigh. The weatherman says this should be the last blast of winter. Well, I’m holding him to it.

Hannah’s Hero is now with the formatter. The cover is gorgeous, but I’m going to hold off showing it until I actually have a firm release date. Stay tuned.

Still experiencing trouble with Amazon orders for WHAT A DAY! but other bookstores are keeping up. Please don’t give up, WHAT A DAY! is a fun read and well worth the wait.

The Final Touches

WHAT A DAY! has been out for a week now, and I have to report that it has been doing pretty well. However, we are having trouble getting our print copies. Please be patient. I don’t think they expected the demand for “real” books.

In the meantime, I’m putting the final touches on Hannah’s Hero. The manuscript is with the proofreader and I’m working with the cover artist on artwork. I think you’ll like the cover. I won’t have a release date for that until I get the finished draft uploaded to Amazon.

Now I just have to come up with a new idea.

A First Today

WHAT A DAY! is live on Amazon today! I have already had a Kindle copy posted to my Kindle and I also have a paperback copy ordered which I’d hope to see in the next day or so. Funny, it’s not like this is my first book, but I’m just so excited to see Heart of Dixie Fiction Writers’ production front and center for the world to see.

Polishing Latest

Waiting for a new book to come out is sort of like waiting through the tenth month of pregnancy. You’re ready to give birth, but it’s going to happen when it is going to happen. WHAT A DAY! will be available to all in just on (very long) week.

In the meantime, I’m polishing Hannah’s Hero, looking for appropriate cover art and generally doing little jobs, anything to keep myself busy.

Next week, several of the authors in WHAT A DAY! and I will be recording a podcast, a first for me, discussing the making of the book. I’ll let you know when and where to get it when they tell me.

Counting Down

Silly me. It just occurred to me that it is indeed Tuesday. I rushed out this morning to exercise because I normally go in the afternoons, but we have a weather alert day and I wanted to be sure I got finished jiggling my chicken fat before it stormed.

Anyway, I rushed home to get to work on Hannah’s Hero. I’m at the point where I’m editing and polishing, and I want to get it finished and into production. Once I get done with it this week, I’ll send it to a pre-reader who might point out plot mistakes or errors in logic, which I will fix and then it might be ready to go out to a proofreader to make sure I’ve dotted every i and crossed every t.

That’s my story and I’m sticking to it.

In the meantime, I’m still counting the days until WHAT A DAY! is released. 14 days until April 5.
